Tools
There are so many ways out there to help you with all the different emotions. It’s a matter of finding which ones work for you. Which ones help you feel better when you don’t feel good, and which help you feel the positive feelings longer and even stronger.
There is no universal tool that will work for everyone, as all people are different. Different things will work for different people. This section is here to try and help you find the right tools to unlock that inner wisdom that will create inner peace…
I hope you are inspired to find more tools that help you become the best possible version of yourself. I hope they help you heal old and new wounds. I hope they help you see more of the good, feel more joy and do more of what makes you happy!
Exercise
Exercise in any form is a release, even just going for a walk. In fact, sometimes going for a walk is one of the best forms of exercise. You get true fresh air, can come across exciting things that may inspire you, maybe even meet new people. Who knows! There are lots of forms of exercise, some of which I enjoy and will be adding more info about shortly.
Visualization
Visualization exercises, which are obviously great for the more visual people. They can have a profound effect on you. The mind does not know the difference between what is real and what is imagined. Visualizing can bring up different emotions, help you release emotions or recall past events in ways to release trauma. Stay tuned for links!
Creativity
If you are artistic and enjoy painting, drawing, sculpting, building creating art of any kind, this is very healing and is also a form of therapy you can seek out. You could pick up one of the many adult colouring books that are available, or a children’s one to perhaps get in touch with your inner child. Creativity opens a side of people that could be very helpful along this journey. Look here for more ways to be creative later.
Yoga
Some forms of Yoga can be considered exercise. There is some that is relaxing and also more calming. There are many different styles of yoga, including hot yoga, slow yoga, aerial yoga, chair yoga, fast yoga, strengthening yoga, yoga with animals, restorative yoga, and even laughter yoga. See attached links… soon!
Breathing
Breathing techniques are extremely handy. Have you ever noticed that fighters of all different kinds breathe very specifically when training? There is a spot, intensity and sometimes sound for that outbreath with each punch, each kick. I took Karate when I was younger, and the breath and sound that came out with it was a very important piece of the training. There is box breathing, dharma breath, calming breath. Links for these are coming soon.
Creating Habits
Reach out to hold yourself accountable for your own well-being. Sometimes we forget what we need to help ourselves. When I remembered that tapping was one of the things that helps me cope with stress and be more mindful, I vowed to make time daily to tap. I called a good friend of mine and asked her to message me nightly to ensure I had tapped that day. It held me accountable and enabled me to make it a habit again. There are countless healthy, life changing habits you can form. A list will be here for you someday!
Meditation
Meditation has always been a part of my life. Like yoga, there are many different kinds of meditation techniques. Focusing your attention on your body, your breathing and your mind is a general yet simple way to explain meditation and mindfulness. You can find millions of guided meditations of all kinds online. If you search for whatever you feel you need, release of emotions, manifestation of goals, chakra balancing… too many to mention here. I will be adding some to the site in the future, check them out under the meditation section on the site!
Sound
Sound itself can be healing. It can be as simple as listening to powerful music. Music that touches your soul, that literally moves you, moves you into a different feeling. Music that helps you cry, scream, dance, sing, jump with excitement. No matter what you need to release or anchor in at the time, music therapy is something to consider. There are also music therapists out there. Other forms of using sound to find the best “you” will be added as well.
